You've heard the term "New Year, new me" before, but have you heard "New Year, new home?" In January 2018 we packed up our family, belongings, and our Little Free Library (LFL) and headed northwest to the small town of Sachse. Just 6 months after setting up shop in University Park, it was time to say goodbye.
After 7 weeks of unpacking, I am finally ready to return my focus to the Neighborly Book Exchange (NBE) - currently taking up residence in my dining room. Our previous home had a raised cement porch, so our LFL was the perfect height for visitors. With our new home's design, we will need to make some structural changes to our LFL before it's ready for visitors.
I'm excited to get the opportunity to share the LFL with a new neighborhood and I've already seen the love this community has for reading through the local Sachse Public Library . Their librarians are passionate about what they do, and I feel very blessed to be so geographically close to such a wonderful organization. It's important to note that "Little Free Libraries" are not actually libraries, in the traditional sense. The NBE would never dream of replacing or competing with any library! I simply hope that the NBE is able to add value to the already terrific experience offered up by this small community.
